OHDA Event Information & Entry Forms
ScotDance Canada,
the registration agent for Canadian dancers and competition organizers,
maintains lists of events in Canada,
and the Federation of United States Teachers and Adjudicators (FUSTA) maintains a list of
events in the United States.
The following OHDA competitions are sanctioned by the
Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD) of Scotland.

(1) Any Dancer not presenting a valid Scotdance Registration Card, or proof
that one has been requested will not be allowed to dance according to SOBHD
rules.
(2) The O.H.D.A. will not be responsible for loss of property or injury no
matter how caused.

Dancers must dance in own category and age group. Age as of day of competition.
Age groups formed at the discretion of the Games committee according to
entries. Age groups of fewer than 8 dancers will be avoided where possible.
Premier 16 may be combined with Premier 17 and over depending on age
distribution of dancers entered. Swords will be placed for all competitors.
Intermediate will use 1 regulation hilt and a scabbard, Premier will use two
regulation hilts... Competitors will dance in reverse order of receipt of
entries. "First to enter, last to dance."

Technique and steps to be judged under SOBHD regulations. Judges decision is
final. Steps as indicated by numbers in boxes in the entry portion of this
form. Steps may be cut should time constraints or other circumstances dictate.

All dances will, where possible, be scrutineered to 6th place with appropriate
dance points (88, 56, 38, 25, 16 & 10). Awards will be to two places less
than dancers competing to a maximum of 6 placings. Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
with ribbons thereafter for Primary, Beginner and Novice. Medals for all places
for Intermediate & Premier, except the most senior Premier class, which
will receive cash awards as follows:
Regular competition: 1st - $30, 2nd - $25, 3rd - $20, 4th -
$15, 5th - $10, 6th - $7.50;
Championship: 1st - $50, 2nd - $35, 3rd - $25, 4th -
$20, 5th - $15, 6th - $10.

Pre-Premier Trophies; Aggregate Age Group Trophies will be awarded for all
categories per age groups with the exception of Primary as per SOBHD rules.
Overall perpetual category and Premier class trophies and keepers based on
highest total points over all events per category with the exception of
Primary. Premier Dancer of the Day/Overall trophy will be determined by dance
points. Any resulting tie may be broken by a dance-off. Games chair to decide
process and dance to be selected by Judge(s). All trophies must be signed for
prior to leaving the competition. (See registration forms for trophy
